Porto: Rest Days, Sunny, 23

Having A Little Fun!

We arrived into Porto a day earlier than expected, having completed the crossing from Coimbra in 4 days. So the group decided to take a two day break. We've been poking around in Porto and having lots of fun together. We thought that Neil and Sarah would look for some time on their own, but that didn't prove to be the case. A nice statement of our time together. We wandered the market, this time in the sun.
Taking in the colour and activity as we went.
A little of this,
and a little of that.
Lots of colour.
We wandered a few churches...

But they all begin to run into one another, so no more churches for a while! So what next?
Perhaps some street walking down to the river? Perfect.

That's more like it!
Then over the bridge looking for some port tastings!

Too many tour groups so back over the bridge and we find a nice port in a little shop and take it back to sample
before walking out for our dinner...found the sunset along the way!

Then the cool evening air walk back to our hotel. Tired but contented.
Though there was a night race going on through the city...official numbers and everything. Seemed to be a way point run where you have to go to specific places. All very odd, but looked like lots of fun!

  1. Great photos, especially the market. I love the tiled buildings, especially the blue church. Neil has a photo of that church as well. What a stunning city. Enjoy your walk tomorrow!

    Bom Caminho!
