We woke to very clear skies with a crisp feel to the air. We had a latish night for a Camino, in bed by 10:30! Oooo.
Yesterday while out and about we came across a couple having a very special moment on their wedding day, and thought of Erin and Seth as they prepare themselves. Interesting custom here. At home the groom doesn't typically see the bride in her dress until the wedding ceremony. And this looked to be the case here too.
However in a few moments, off came the blinds and the photo session commenced! We watched proceedings and shared a couple of moments before leaving them to their special day.
A piano in the corner.
Any way, enough silliness. On with the walk! And a very nice one it was too!
The view out over the lower valley where we had crossed the day before was shrouded in ground fog.
A coffee stop. Very surprised to find this place open on a Sunday. Pan de chocolate no less!
As you can see I was finally changing my shoe inserts to the new ones Annemarie brought from home. The blisters are well healed, but the change of inserts coupled with the Injury I had prior to departure has resulted in another small problem. However, I'm working on it and I hope that it won't get in the way. You just manage these things as well as possible while walking and hope for the best. This was my concern when I left home, so it's not a surprise. Any way...more photos. We walked up the valley to the hill town in the distance. A simply beautiful crossing.
For you Caitlin, always the sunshine girl,
Inside an old, old church...beautiful colours.
Last night was a great evening at a small restaurant with a group of 9. The food was great as was the company.
Our gite was quite the unusual place. No square corners and everything was pretty artsy and eclectic.
The nside was crazy fun! The owners ran a restaurant here as well for years, but recently closed that part of their business.
Take note of the ceiling.
The day before...
Then onwards as we walked through some extraordinary scenery. There isn't a whole lot to tell about this portion of the day...so a few photos? Oh, except that we were well guarded agains nasty dogs today.
Actually, rural Sundy morning boar hunting! It's the thing to do here and in Spain in the fall. I don't get it, but they all seemed happy while the dogs flush the woods and they sat around waiting.

Bryan, I thought you might like this Lotus...c'est bien!
And a bit more scenery from today...basically point your camera and snap.
We are in a small village tonight with a room to ourselves in a gite and a small restaurant available to find a cold drink and a modest, but no doubt excellent meal.
Peter, just heard about your shoulder. Great excuse to do no yard work or gardening for the summer! Well done! Will wait to hear how everything goes for you. Very best from us.
And to my sister Kathy, many happy returns on your birthday! I took an image of these flowers for you!
Take care everyone.
Bon Chemin!
Oh and Ken, a typical way marker....usually just the red and white, but this one was a bit more special.
Ever present company...
