This morning we woke to a cool mountain morning with a light rain falling. We were happy to take this after the deluge yesterday. It was so wet that I never had a chance to see much of the town...it will still be in Spain another time...onwards!
Today we worked our way out of the Pyrenees with two climbs to warm the heart and a long steep decent into Zubiri located on the Rio Arga where we have a room in a private hostel. Rain was intermittent and our ponchos came on and off all morning...we just left them draped over our packs to keep them dry when we were not needing them.
We are both in good health, sleeping occasionally and no injuries so far...we have seen others with a few injuries and heavy packs. So far so good. You might see that I have added some photos to the Stage 1 post. Tomorrow Pamplona!!
Today we leave you with something nice from Annemarie...enjoy!
Letting go, staying open
There is an investment in acquiring
Things and thoughts we're really not requiring
The Camino asks us to simply let go...
Live simply, live in the present, go with the flow
We carry little physical burden in our packs
Our other burdens don't show on our backs
Walking allows these burdens to surface
They may be minimal, or there could be a surplus
The Camino asks that we each be open to what will come
This might be asking a lot for some
As we walk, a mantra emerges particularly for our climbs
In the hopes it will minimize the strain on our limbs
Breathe out, let it go
Breathe in, go with the flow..
checking on your progress daily! Sorry that your weather has been less than stellar. Keep blogging!!!! d&l
