Special notes arrive in my email every
so often
Giving hints about what to expect when we
walk this autumn
Sent by my walking and life partner, they
heighten the anticipation
I think, really they are also romantic, a
bit of a flirtation
They come from a variety of sources,
address all kinds of topics
Where to stay, physical prep, spirituality,
politics and optics
They are food for thought and may answer a
burning question
Some may be included in our blog, at our
discretion
Some resonate
Others are food for debate
Some have fleeting impact, while others
will be the basis of ongoing reflection
Some leave us slightly confused, while
others give us direction
They have been an integral part of our
Camino prep.
And I’ll carry them with me, step by step
And I’ll carry them with me, step by step
Hi Geoff & Annemarie: D Day is not too far away now and I thought that the message from "Anonymous Pelegrino" was very well stated. The words that he/she used to describe what the Camino is really all about and the trials and tribulations that challenges a person when one undertakes such an adventure were, in my mind, encouraging and in no way intimidating. Probably one of the toughest parts of any adventure is to make the decision to go for it and take the first step of the trek - after that you are on your way and the waiting bit is behind you. Mind you, the first step, so to speak, could well be a little shut eye on the plane as you take off for Europe and maybe a nice glass of wine with dinner followed by another nap!
